Hi animallover,
I'm not sure about the chick starter providing immunity,b&p what do u think of that? The one'sI gave u didn't get sick, did they? They are 7 months old now, wonder what they look like?Hope they are being loved like we love them.So u want them at 3 weeks.I suppose it's ok.Can't wait or are u really busy...lol.They will be 3 weeks old on the 6th of May,so anytime from then on is fine.I don't think it will be as cold where u live like here in Lithgow.Get back to me on this.I was born on the Central Coast,Long Jetty hospital actually. Both my kids were born at Gosford hospital, sure is a small world.Talk yo u soon.
Rose

No mine never ever had a problem. They were on starter for a while until I let them free range and than they got a mix of scratch and starter or grower, but they were also living with a turkey and ducks than. They were the best little lawn mowers....since they went I have to mow the extra 1/3 of my yard that they had :x :x

Hi,
Thanks for the shared information everyone, makes sense to me. Plan to keep them on what they are use to, but like b&p once they go out into the big paddock they be with the ducks and chooks so it will be a bit more of a mixed diet. Re- heat source, they will be inside to start with and can be brought back in at anytime. Iam the only human living here so there is no one to complain about messy geese in the house( have lots of dog crates/pens and the floors are all tiles). Re- picking them up, Iam both excitied and busy, is it obvious lol. Have got a young dog that is being shown at the moment, so between work and shows spare weekend time is at a premium. Might have to come on a week day afternoon if thats OK.
Talk to you soon.

Here is another question this time on geese. Which breed makes a good pet? I've been doing some reading on the chinese brown goose and sounds good. Are they hard to come by and what would you expect to pay for a breeding pair?

china browns are very noisey geese! we have a few breeding pairs and they are reasonably common.
as for price? we've sold birds from $25-$100 each, depending on age and quality.
we also breed romans, roman tufted, toulouse, cape barrens and the good old farmyard cross.
they all make good pets but they toulouse is by far the queitest.

rose, you look like you have a pomeranian type gander and pilgrim type girl.
