a fair price for indian runner eggs (eating)

we have a pair of indian runner ducks and they lay a lot of eggs - had two a day since we got them - -

so what's a fair price to ask for indian runner eggs, organic, no chemicals in the feed or on them?? from a back yarder.

they aren't fertile - only got the ducks, no drake.

Great question!!! We are in a similar situation, but have one duck, one drake. I am about to T"RY" and incubate my first clutch! Wish me luck!! Would love to know what is a fair price for fertile indian runner eggs as ours are definately fertile! (They go at it every morning, plus I have candled them at a couple of days to check).

mmmmm, the price to charge for home laid eggs..... I suppose the long and the short of it is......what are people prepared to pay? and how much is it costing you?

I don't sell duck eggs, but I do sell my excess chook eggs, I charge $4 a dozen, I maybe could charge more, but, I don't want to as I cannot guarantee a regular supply of eggs, and I like to see it, more as a "donation" as I don't think I would ever cover the costs of the chooks,feed, worming mixture etc

I have seen duck eggs sold at a large fruit and vege shop in the Lockyer Valley (South Qld) for $9 a dozen just recently

as far as the price for fertile eggs goes......have a look on "farmstock" and see what others charge...ofcourse I think alot of this would depend on whether the ducks are what could be termed from "show stock bloodlines"; these type of eggs seem to attract a higher price......

$10 a dozen I think would be fair for duck eggs, we sell chook eggs for $6 and duck eggs are a lot bigger

$8.00 to $10.00 is a fair price for sure

We have sold them for as little as $3 a dozen but they were for baking. Funny thing is we took a few dozen to the local flea market and didn't sell any which was a shock as chook eggs sell so well there. We sell them from the front gate on an honor system and sell a few over the weekends but very few during the week.

Just for eating I would think $4 is fair but if they were fertile I think $10 is fair. Even if only 50% hatch thats $10 for 6 geese were can you buy 6 for 10? also would depend on the breed some would sell for more if the are rare

Hi, I get $4.50 for my mussie eggs but a bloke in Toowoomba gets $9.50 for the same breed.

I have sold runner eggs for eating for $5 but had some actually incubate them with success but buying them for 'eating'

I bet they brought them to hatch in the first place which is nothing wrong with that but its different way of getting eggs, did they ask you if they would be fertile?
