hi jeff.
yes i think it was a bargain but i would of paid a lot more for them. as i am not into breeding my birds for money but i want to breed a few ducklings and try and see a few more bronze birds around as thay are very rare? i hope to find other breeders who are wanting to take on the bronze color and i would love to see some at shows but the bronze is a funny color as it can take a long time for a birds color to come right as thay seem to change color overnight , the picture of the 15 ducklings and the bronze girl she is my 2nd best color bird but it looks like all her ducklings will be white but thats the way it goes with breeding birds , i was hopeing to get some good color birds from her ? but i have another girl sitting and another girl who looks to be going clucky so hopefully i will have a few bronze in the next year or so to show and breed form and hopefully a few spare drake to pass on to other breeders?

regards jase

hi courta.
bronze muscovys are rare as there are not many breeders who keep them . i know of 2 other breeders who had some but 1 has sold his birds and now there is only me and broken bird . bbs birds are great as he is a top breeder and he has won at the sydney royal show so his birds are worth a lot of money . i am only just starting to breed them this year i was very lucky to get a drake of bb as thay are rare as hens teeth and then i found 3 good bronze duck out in the bush of a top guy who breeds muscovys for meat and the bronze color turns up now and again in his birds luckerly i was there at the right time or thay would of went to a poultry auction and sold to the meat buyers. from 1 duck i got 9 ducklings and all look to have some bronze color? and 1 girl who had 15 ducklings but thay all look like thay will be white. i have a black/bronze color girl who is sitting on about 20 eggs and i think that my bronze pied girl maybe going clucky as i found a nest with about 20 andshe is looking like she will be sitting in the next couple of days ? from these birds i will keep the best color drake and maybe a couple of girls . i dont really sell my birds as i want to breed birds to pass them on to people who want to breed bronzes if you were closer i would keep any spare birds i had for you . iam waiting at the moment to see what thay will turn out like before i get rid of any. i might have some eggs in the future but at this time i dont . do you breed muscovys ? and also what color ? and do you show ?

hi mate.
when i go thrue my birds when thay get bigger i will be keeping the best drake for myself and 1 for bb and 1 for a breeder . so i think in the first batch of ducklings there looks to be about 4 or 5 drakes? maybe more as thay are only 5 weeks old its hard to tell and i hopefully will have more ducklings by than , but i will keep 1 drake for you if you want 1. as yet im not shore what thay will turn out like and if thay will be good bronzes but if you would like 1 when there older . ill message you and and ill get over to wagga and bring you over a drake . and hopefully if you put him over some white girls you should get some bronzes? and also if you are serious about breeding bronzes he wont cost you any money as i want to see some other people take on this rare color
regards jase
