The Sydney Royal National Poultry Show 2016

The Poultry Committee of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) is proud to announce that it will be hosting the 2016 Sydney Royal National Poultry Show at the Sydney Showground over the Queen’s Birthday weekend Thursday 9 - Sunday 12 June 2016.
Murray Wilton, RAS General Manager of Agriculture, said the Show is the pinnacle poultry competition in Australia and has become an institution on the Poultry Show calendar.
“The competition, previously hosted in Canberra, is held every four years and attracts exhibitors from every corner of Australia,” said Mr Wilton.
“Three years ago the Show drew 5,500 entries across soft feather, hard feather and water fowl, and with the competition open to anyone we hope to see even more exhibitors and entries in 2016.
“This is also exciting for Sydney Royal as it means providing greater engagement in agriculture outside of the Easter Show.
“The Show is also popular with the general public and attracts a solid crowd, including lots of families.
“The RAS is committed to forging a strong future for agriculture and this competition will help showcase the value of sustainable Australian agriculture and award-winning poultry to the wider community,” said Mr Wilton.
The RAS is excited to work with poultry exhibitors from all over Australia in the pursuit of agricultural excellence and invite all poultry exhibitors to consider taking part in the national competition.
More information about the Show will be available on the RAS website – http://www.rasnsw.com.au – over coming months and in the lead up to the Show next year.

The APF National Gathering

Will be held at or near the Sydney National Show in 2016

Its likely we will have 4-6 meet and greets over 2 days so the team and the fellow APF'ers can all meet as many thousands in 1 day is to much I think.

I have volunteered my service to mrs Loo to run the event and MC 2 or 3 of the meet and greets on site.

I will let you all know the exact location closer to the Jan 2016

I have heard 7000 have booked for the gathering is there still room? we have maybe 50 that are desperate to go and meet everyone from APF

Looks like we will need 50 session of meet and greet so far so its going over 3 days maybe 4 with the massive enquiries and number booked so far

Sydney Olympic Park Lodge - accommodation opportunity for the Poultry National 2016! The RAS of NSW have arranged a special opportunity for poultry exhibitors and show attendees to stay at the Sydney Olympic Park Lodge which is nestled within the historic grounds of the Newington Armory. The Lodge is a short five minute drive from the Showgrounds and this will be a wonderful opportunity for exhibitors to enjoy some social time within close proximity of the show. Hostel accommodation is shared Bunk style and set within beautiful grounds behind secure gates. There are communal dining and social areas. There are four nights available for booking - Thursday 9th June through to Sunday 12th June. The cost is $70 per night which includes a continental breakfast. A hot breakfast is also available for an extra $5, lunch for $10 and Dinner for $10. Sheets need to be brought or hired for $15 for the duration of your stay.
