Here is a youtube link to the white wood duck which occurred naturally on the Vic/NSW border.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOKBzi6Ulkg

Do you still think it's a hybrid?

As for importing wood ducks or other waterfowl eggs, the cost of the entire process would be about $380,00 if the current chicken egg import is anything to go by.

In addition, all the eggs had to be collected in one week as part of the protocol.

Are there enough ducks laying at the same time to achieve this in the country of export?

The facility can handle 7600 eggs. The less eggs you get in that week, the higher the cost per bird.

Elements such as fertility and hatchability also have to be taken into account.

Not a simple nor inexpensive process.

Good luck

Thanks for the funny clip I did enjoy Hopalong. As for the "Little white duck" well it was as the clip title and the jury is still out. I will leave it at that and wait for the emails coming to CW.

Thanks for the clip all the same, only proved a 1 leg duck can swim without going in circles

Yes we know Parvo and the money is no issue at all and yes enough eggs can be collected in 1 week remember the population is a little more than 23 million ;)

I guess many were as negative as you with the first syndicate and they are being incubated as I write this ;) Its all under control ;)

Great balance for only 1 leg [smilie=a_goodjobson.gif] looks like a clean bite took the whole leg.

Exactly which country has the population of 23 million waterfowl Weston?

I wasn't being negative, but merely pointing out the logistics of such an exercise.
Most novices hear about potential and start dreaming about what they would like to import without knowing the sorts of costs involved.

A bit rich you calling me negative given your recent posts don't you think ;)

 people  "the population is a little more than 23 million" as in FAR more than our population so hence FAR more breeders of waterfowl ;)

Good thing we are far, far from novices ;)

No not at all, we have not been negative at all we have been positive in and about our discussion I think you choose to read it how you want not how it is ;) Not to worry though its a free country to believe what you like.

We will wait and see what happens behind the scenes ;) in the mean time we have moved on and back to the Apricot mutations ect...

Have a nice day
