Hi Rob53,
I purchased my direct from Joletray Trading. Tony has been very helpful with both per and post sales.

Link http://www.crazydealsonline.com.au/incu ... pping.html

I am very happy with mine including my earlier 60 egg unit.

Rhose Red.

I just bought the updated jn8-48, interestingly, the manual that comes with it now looks just like what you provided/created stencorp.

Did they borrow your material?

Hope give it a go soon, it's running at present without any eggs, temp reads 38 degrees on the display, and humidity is at 65.

But waiting on an external thermometer/hygrometer to arrive in order to calibrate incubator before placing eggs inside it.

The material came from a pdf I found online (I think there is a link to is somewhere) - I only reformatted it and edited some of the language . Much of the information regarding general egg incubation comes straight off QLD gov dept ag website I later discovered.

If someone reuses it and sends it out with the incubator it will hopefully help the buyer save all the time I lost trying work out how to use it.

Hi stencorp,

The temperature of 36.9C-37C, was that the temperature showing on th jn8 readout or that's the temperature measured by a separate thermometer level with the egg tray?

As my reading on the front of the jn8 was 38C, but using a handheld thermometer place inside the incubator and on the egg tray, that recorded 39.2C.

So do I drop the incubator temperature until I get 36.9C on my handheld thermometer inside the incubator?

Thanks.

The JN8 temp display can be calibrated accordingly if it doesn't show the correct temp - by using a trusted thermometer after runnning the JN8 for a few days.

There isn't to do once you put water in the channel, add the eggs and turn it on.

Just need to refill the water channel every 4 days or so, but it can be a difficult task for a 9 year old to do as it's not easy to get water into the channel when the hatching tray and egg trays are in place.

Others have found using the "pump" branded water bottles to squirt water down into the channel through the hatching tray.

Taking the tray out at day 18 when it's full of eggs could be a little challenging for young kids too. I know I find it a little tricky as it's quite flexible and you have to pick it up from the right spots.
