Common Domestic Geese ???

I have seen the grey poms at 2 different places in the last 4 weeks and they looked exactly like the 2 in the pictures above. I am new to ducks but not geese and they were grey poms for sure

APS lists grey,,which is the pied version OS..and it lists Buff???..mmmmm..
BWA lists pied(same colour as APS grey),and grey and white

if your read the APS these birds are the wrong colour for the grey listing.
if you read the BWA listing for grey these birds are close for colour,,except for the questionable bill colour..

read either or both standards and these birds pictured fall short on type ..

IMO... if you dont have correct size/wieght,type/carriage and correct colour you dont have a breed.. and just have some nice common farmyard birds..

does that clear up any confusion??

I get what your saying and yes if we go by the "show" standard [aka APS] but for 99% of us we don't

thats a bit like saying all grey geese are toulouse or all white ducks with orange bill and legs are pekins
if your not using a writen standard,,then how do you make an assesment of bird and establish what breed it is? conf665
