Coccidiosis in adult chooks?

I have a very sick Australorp hen & I am wondering if it could be Coccidiosis. She has lost weight in the last week & is not eating or drinking much, just sits in the same spot not moving much. Her comb that is usually nice & red is pale as well. I worm regularly with Big L & done again to see if this was the problem but to no avail. Have checked for lice & mites but nothing either. I have been giving her oxivet antiobiotics all week & she looks slightly better but she is still not up walking around. This morning I am trying Coccivet in her water to see if this may help. Forgot to add that her poo has been runny & white but no blood, & just as she started to look ill she was walking quite stiff legged. All our chooks are fed on various grains as well as being able to free range on grass 3 days a week. Any help or advice would be much appreciated as she is one of my best show hens.

Parasites actually become resistant if you use the same worming solution all the time, best to alternate them by using wormers with different chemical bases, like using two different types worming tablets so that you know that each individual chookie gets wormed properly.

Thankyou for that, I now understand it all much better. The hen in question looks a little brighter this arvo after 1 day on the coccivet & some special TLC as well as some special recipe I found on the forum for sick chickens. I hadn't cleaned the pen for a while so maybe this is how she had got it.

Good hygiene in the coop/pen are essential for healthy chookies, also a balanced diet.

The most important step is to act fast when you first discover the disease because it spreads so fast and to many different types of birds

I friend had an outbreak of this disease and it spread real fast to the other hens he purchased a few new hens and 1 of them had the disease and he lost 80% of all his hens so quarantine is the moral of this story and a lesson he learnt the hard way and costly

quarantine any sick chook ASAP thats the first thing anyone should do
