bronze muscovy are they masking other colours

With the bronze muscovy are they masking any other colours in there make up?
I assume black is there but what else?
Would blue be in their makeup also?

It would depend on each bird and their parentage as to what would be masked I would say but black is defiantly in their

when i had bronzes all my birds bred true , all were bronzes, a breeder i know who got some of the best i have ever seen in this country , was told when they got theses birds dont breed any other colors to them as they were pure bronzes, they were never bred to any other color, well guess what the breeder did started breeding blues and blacks into them,

well now the offspring are now hatching out with black in the legs and beaks, pure bronzes do not have black in the beaks or legs,

a few breeders were trying to breed chocolate muscovys , chocolate muscovys are in the usa
by crossing blacks and bronzes, ? in australia we dont have chocolate muscovys ,

if you get a self bronze duck and drake you will get good self colored ducklings, when buying bronzes look for birds with white beaks and legs, anything without black, also keep away from barred patterns as there impossable to breed selfs from,

alot of people with muscovys want colored birds, it is better to breed good type muscovys , get good type then worry about color later on,

Thanks muscovyjase it makes sense now as to why we see a mix appearing from bronze I believe I have a couple of self bronze and hope they breed true

If anyone ever comes up with chocolate muscovys I would love to buy a few. I have seen some great picture from the usa of them and some are so dark brown they look great

Oh that is so annoying -
Our bronze was killed by a dog on the weekend

He was young, and we hadn't started breeding from him yet - the girls had been off egg laying
