Spoken from a true lover of real Sussex and I mean REAL PURE Sussex because the rubbish in QLd is a bad joke and not even close to pure and riddled with feather disorders and stunted growth [that one is poor diet mostly]

Best for the breed is to round them up in Qld and gas the lot

The last time I saw good pure Sussex in show was 16 years ago in NSW. Since then all the Sussex shown have been garbage especially Light Sussex and Coronation Sussex, both are very poor these days and yes Qld has the worst I think

Qld issues with this breed are the poor quality of breeders, no question, just look at this topic: viewtopic.php?f=74&t=57227&start=0 and those disgusting conditions and sick Sussex fowls, makes any honest bird lover sick to the stomach. No wonder they are is such a state there with people like her allowed to mistreat them so appallingly

I think its just Qld that has stuffed them up and they need to address it locally by putting down all the rubbish sussex they have. I think we [WA] have some 'ok' sussex but not great, we need to import decent pure sussex and start again

Yes the new restrictions will stop the backyard poultry turds for getting them and that's a great thing for the fowls

Its great to read that only the top keepers can have these rare breeds under the new laws. Maybe now they can recover and breed up the numbers
