I sat at the table to lisen too both sides of the coin.I must say that the cost was on my mine as I spend a lot on feed and going to shows as it is.
And the question was asked what about breeds like Langshan, pikins and so on that are judged on the feather on the shanks....
Breeds like Dorking with five toes...
And at the end of the day it's up to that club if they say yes or no...
So when you are going to a show, you will need to check to see if that show said yes or no to leg rings.Which means you will need to take off leg ring and then put on a leg ring all through the show season..I can not see that working sorry.

So what? the ring is small and has no affect on the feathers on the shanks? What about tumbler pigeons they have rings and are judged on feather? is that just that pigeon clubs are more advanced like ALL other hobby clubs over poultry clubs?

Don't get you there what do toes have to do with leg rings?

You know the more you hear about these clubs the more you want nothing to do with them so many are just dinosaurs

The weak excuses for not have leg ring across the board is embarrassing to me, shows the poultry world as stuck in the mud, thank god for the internet and in turn this forum, its the reason so many are still interested in poultry and new ones come along.

Those of us that want leg rings [and there are many] should boycott the shows, in fact I will ;)

That's a big kick in the guts for the hard non-payed work the clubs put in.

Actually it is for me to say and every other exhibitor, remember no exhibitors no judges!

No, no you have that all wrong its a wake up call from the 21st century ;) not personal to anyone

A nice happy, fun PROGRESSIVE, MODERN club would be even better ;) Also how many kids stay with it??????? in the more than 20 years I have been involved in showing and winning, far too many fall away after a short time and I am talking about more than 3 clubs I have seen this.

Modern clubs for modern times not much to ask!

Well put and many breeders agree 100% with you. So many are just not showing anymore like me tied of the stale status quo and I will not take off my fowls leg rings for any show.

I am the one watching and edited your posts New England Poultry as some of your posts are rude and offensive.

What club do you claim to represent New England Poultry?

Thats ok I like supporting the ag's anyway. The big shows do little for me anyway so not a big loss for me.
