I reckon that it would be fun to help with developing the colours.

The yanks call a new colour if 3 feather turn up a different colour or 1 shade lighter. The list of so called mutations is not worth looking at from OS I could cut that list in half with so many very very similar

I did notice that on the Guinea Fowl International website colours like Opal and Cream were almost identical.
I am really keen to learn more about the genetics because i have a few ideas about colours and varieties.

I was unsure if we had a Bronze variety in Australia or a Purple variety.
I am also trying to figure out how to create a red colour, similar to the Bourbon Red Turkey. I think that to achieve the result, i need to delve into genetics and to learn from all of you.

Feedback is appreciated :-D

I was thinking to get the Bourbon colour I would need to use Bronze.

Do you guys have any tips or advice?
I was wanting to keep the idea hushed but I can't pm yet

Have you bred the existing mutations like red eye silver and cinnamon first? How long if you have and how many keets? its far from easy to breed a new mutation hence why only PA has done it with White, Cream, Dark eye cinnamon, Chocolate and a couple of others I can't mention because of trolls.

The bronze come from Chocolate so start there when you have the experience

Peepguinea Fowl I havn't bred any mutations yet. I would attempt to create Bourbon Red after I have had experience with nearly all already created mutations and colours. So 10-20 years down the track. I do not want to jump head on only to face inexperience.

Do you think this is the way to go? I would love to one day join the ranks of you, nightmare, ace and of lucky P.A :-D

I think if you stick around and learn from the best here then in 5-10 years you will be ready to take on a new mutation and you will get the best help possible in the world and I mean in the world

Thanks PeepGuineaFowl

I will definitely be around and I am looking to start my stud again from reliable bloodlines. I am thinking that I am ready to try silver and cinnamon.
