Busted by the council

I have initiated operation Jika Jika to try and buy some more time.

The council here have actually been pretty good. I only found out about the complaint after I phoned them looking for a lost cat. I have a mini menagerie which they are bemused by and well aquinted with (in a good way!). They certainly were not looking to enforce any sort of intervention (yet).

What annoys me the most is the people living next to me are only there for a 6 month lease while their 40sq monstrosity is being built and then they will be gone like all of the others - hence why I want to buy time rather than re-house. Want the the city bells and whistles in a country town. In all seriousness though I have only ever had very positive comments from other neighbours about the fellas, they love them and I would have delt with this long ago had I known it had upset anyone.. I just wish they had approached me first rather than Big Brother.

by the way, I have tried keeping a rooster quiet can't be done without being cruel (I never got to that stage btw) the only way it could stay is by sound proofing. or a permit and some really nice neighbours.
maybe apply for the permit but cheer the neighbours up and chat to them, and see if you can muffle his crows.
make sure you don't make it to hot in the rooster box, otherwise you could have cooked roo for brekkie.
be really nice to your neighbours give them eggs, chicken manure, maybe even make a secret all round ferteliser, and make something like High Ph, low Ph, Mid Ph or recipes
helping my neighbours with their garden, introducing my chooks to them and their kids, and just chatting with them, really let me keep my roo for just a bit longer.
the only complaint I got was:

where did your rooster go? I miss that lovely crow each morning!

Our new neighbor has complained to the council about our 2 roosters so far they have not made us get rid of them but I think its coming

I think its very unfair we have been here 15 years and the new neighbor 4 weeks

Isn't it funny how we often have to put up with neighbours' noisy music/parties and revving car engines late at night, but the beautiful sound of a rooster announcing the start of a new day has everyone running to the council with complaints! conf665

I am very thankful for my neighbours who have nothing but nice things to say about Bazza. He is old and early to bed and late to rise which may help.

Thankfully my council allow one rooster without a permit. If people complain he may still have to go.

a child seat perhaps a child seat will work good to PP
