geese what breed?

I picked up theses geese from a welfare shelter today. Any idea what breed and perhaps sex?

they all appear to be Pilgrim crosses perhaps crossed with Roman - they are very attractive :-D

- a lot of people cross Pilgrim and Roman because of the pretty pattern combinations you get :-D

they are so pretty I wouldnt mind having some with those wonderful 'caps' on their heads - pity you are are so far away!

do you know their ages?? if they are all 1yr or older they could all be male - if 20 weeks or yougner = you have a bit of a wait yet to establish gender - but the facial markings would indicate a lean towards females as Pilgrim females have those markings and Pilgrim males are white

if female = with age they will develop a ' low slung pouch' under their bellies [males get a much smaller pouch] and as breeding season is only a few months away = you will know quick smart then :lol:

the grey one in the left corner seems to be developing a slight pouch, maybe female??

. Yes there is only one true grey all the rest are pied mixed colours. The grey has very dark brown eyes and all the rest have very blue eyes, so by what I have researched I have one female and six males! Do you think this will cause a problem?
I do intend to let them free range when they are very setlled. Although still nervous some will now take a little bread from my hand. I plan to leave them in their pen for at least 4 weeks before I open their door to the world. Will they come back to their pen at night if I call them with some food as a bribe?

Often the mixed breeds causes both sexes to have blue eyes so dont go on eye color alone =

We have Roman cross Saddle Back and Pilgrim cross Common Grey and Saddle Back cross Embden and Pilgrim cross Embden = excluding the Common Grey gander and the Pilgrim goose who both have brown eyes most of the rest have blue eyes – one girl has one blue and one brown eye!

I still say you will find out quick smart the sex of all once breeding season starts :-D

Thanks so much for the information! maybe in time I will be able to tell who is who, for now their names will all just be goosies!
