Does anyone know what the running costs are for a HovaBator 60 egg Manual turner are. With power cost doubling here I am concerned about a hefty power bill

I have just finish a batch of 20 pekin eggs in my Rcom Suro 20 egg and I estimate it cost $19 for the 23 days so just under a dollar a day

Thanks seamonkeys I thought it might be similar to the running cost of a small air conditioner which is about 10c per hour. I sent the supplier an email asking the same question but he said he could tell me as it depends on so many factors but a ball park figure would have helped

hi dream i have a manual turn hovabator myself it runs for 6 months of the year and i dont even notice it in my bill :-D

No I think they do cost more than an air con heating usually does

Perhaps similar costs to reverse cycle heating? hard to know or find out unless I try I guess

here are the costs

Model: Hoverbator 42 autamatic egg roll (Still air)
Cents per our : 2c p/h
Which means it will cost me $0.48 a day, $3.26 a week and $9.78 for the 21 days!

to work out all running costs for everything though use this method
The amount of power consumed can be calculated with this formula:

P = U * I

P being Power in Watts, U being voltage in Volts, I being current in Ampere. For example:

6 Watts = 12 Volts * 0.5 Ampere

The result is the rating of the device. If the device of the example is operating for an hour it will simply consume 6 Watt-hours (Wh). Thus the device will draw 144 Wh a day.

Basically, find the volt and amp ratings on the items tag or sticker, multiply them by each other and then by the amount of hours you are using it for. From here, look at your power bill and multiply the Watt Hours by the cost of electricity per unit.

it is by far much cheaper to run a bator than reverse aircon systems.
I have hovabators also, ran 2 of them non stop for 10 months and didnt even notice much of a change in the price of my power bill
