Still air to fan forced

Can I take eggs out of a still air incubator at 18 days and hatch them in a fan forced hatcher incubator successfully.

In a word "YES".
Remember that fan forced is run at a lower temp than a still air incubator, have the fan forced up and running and regulated to temp ready and I would spray the eggs with warm water on the change over to give the humidity a boost ready for the chicks to hatch.

Never used an incubator myself so I don't know all the intricacies of operating them but I'm curious why you would transfer between incubators at all and particularly at this late stage? What do you hope to gain?

I guess live healthy chicks is the hoped for outcome.
The question has been asked for whatever reason and an answer was sort.
The reasons for such a change could be many and varied:
The still air was a borrowed incubator and the owner wanted it back.
The still air broke down and the only available alternative was a fan forced model.
Maybe the still air was too small and instead of running 2 incubators the sensible solution was to transfer to a larger fan forced model to accomodate additional eggs they needed to set.
Or maybe it was idle curiosity to know and understand if hypothetically this were possible.
No doubt in time we may receive an explanation.

I guess I could rephrase my question to what are the benefits/disadvantages of fan forced over still air? And are those advantages sufficient to warrant changing at this late stage? Is it likely to be detrimental exchanging them or is this such a small blip on the radar that it doesn't matter?

My ignorance is a vacuum waiting to be filled.

I put 2 lots of eggs in a bellsouth still air a week apart just wanted to know if I could take the first lot out to hatch them .

Is that because you need to alter the conditions for the last couple of days and you can't do that in the one incubator without affecting your eggs that are a week behind?

I am assuming you need to raise the humidity for the first lot of eggs but would that have much of an effect on the second lot only a week behind?
