Brinsea Ova Easy Advance EX 190 Incubator

Hi,
Does anyone have a brinsea ova easy advance ex 190 incubator? I`m interested to hear anyones views on this model.

I have the 380, which is pretty much the same as the 190 but double the size. I got the 380 because I got a new one at almost half price. I don't think I would have got one if it had cost the full amount however. I probably would have gone to one of the chinese machines, a sportsman or one of the multipl (whatever that name is).

It works fine.

I don't have one so can comment sorry but did a search and can't find any negative comment about them so that’s a good sign. They do look good and you thinking of getting the Advance Humidity Pump for fully automatic control of humidity as the option?

I have the brinsea octagon 40 and it is excellent for my small number of egg and I have never had any trouble with it. I think the brand is very good and they have been around a long time.

How did you manage getting one for half price? Did it come with a humidity pump? How stable has the temp & humidity during incubation? What sort of hatch rate have you been getting for the eggs which were candled to be fertile? A lot of questions I know, your the first one to answer with a simular incubator.

They work fine, they hold temperature well and humidity is easily controlled, but all the semi-professional incubators do those things quite well.

The Brinsea ones are normally about the same price as the Multiquip ones. By comparison the multiquip ones are made of tin sheeting whereas the Brinsea are plolystyrene sheets with steel framing. They both hold temperature and humidity fine. They both turn eggs fine.

Possibly the Brinsea one has easier and better control of humidity.

I think the Brinsea one is physically smaller for the same number of egg places.

Possibly the Brinsea one has slightly more even temperature in the cabinet, but I could not be sure about that. Brinsea claim that because they have 4 fans and a heating element that the temperature is quite even. I've certainly not heard however that there is any problem with other incubators in this respect.

I think that cleaning of either is about the same.

Its your choice, but if I were buying a new incubator, I think I'd look at some of the Chinese made ones as they seem to be about half the price of the others and do pretty much the same thing. Of course you'd need to satisfy yourself that was really the case as it is quite disasterous for your incubator to break down mid-setting!

I think the trouble with some of the chinese brands is getting warrantee if you need it

I think your right about that. I know the Brinsea has a 2 year warrenty.
