Treats for our goslings?

Hey Guys i was wondering if their where any treats we could give our goslings so they can learn to come when called and get used to us holding and cuddling them. The breeder we got them off, told us if we give them a bit of lettuce then they will follows us around and come to us. Well i have no idea if every person in my family is doing something wrong but they will not eat the stuff!! They walk straight past it! They are still a bit small at 2 weeks so that could be why. But we really want to be able to hold and pat our geese when bigger, and let them in the house, and i think treats and small yummy rewards will soon have them sitting in our lap. What do you give your geese? How should we get them used to use?

I give mine a little bit of bread and they go nuts for that and yes lettuce as well but it takes a few weeks for them to know what it is so keep trying and try some bread but only a few little pieces at first

I dont recommend bread for new goslings as it can be hard fo them to digest = once they get fully feathered up yes but not now
grass grass and grass is the main feed source for geese
but you can give them a treat of grains the colours attract them and they will eventually eat them out of your hand
try calling 'goosey goosey goosey' in a slightly higher pitched voice than normal to get their attention eventually they will come to you
daily interaction is good too
I hope you have a heat source for them as they still need their mum to keep them warm at this age especially at night
you can hold them now and each day even when older but I don’t recommend you let them in your house when bigger - they cannot be house trained and you would have a lot of poop to clean up

also geese are paddock/back yard birds that prefer to wander and eat grass
and FYI they eat a lot of grass when adults – best lawn mowers around

Totally agree with soozorps its all about fresh green grass and plenty of it. I give a little wet mix of duck stater but not much just a little for extra protein but yes grass is best every time
