need Help ASAP

hey everyone, i have just finid washing my roster and found i had very small moving buggs allover my hands, my mum had just picked him up from his pearch in his pen and im wondering if it might be mights/the ones that stay on the pearches as i washed up a few of my other chooks that have been in the same pen as him and they didnt have it but i picked them up in the middle of the day.
these buggs are tiny, just little dotts. im sceard that my parrot might get them and die. ALSO if i get them on me how do i get them off????
need help ASAP

they are probs mites or lice, just get some lice/mite powder from your local pet supply store

have never heard of parrot going crazy, but I think it might put a hen off lay if it gets too bad... can it? I dunno
so yeah just get lice/mite powder.. it works
they probably won't die

moving on, yes they will stay on wood, which is why people absolutely coat them in paint...

people like me just can't get rid of every mite, especially if you are in a rainforest.. it makes it so much harder!!

I havent got them on me and my chooks sit on my head (now chook, but oh well.)

catch all your chooks, smother them in it, but not on the face, then smother their dust bathes in it, then paint all wood you can...

Probably lice and or mites, I've heard that they are around this season. Have a hot shower and wash your clothes in hot water, that should get them off you.

You can get Pestene at your local stockfeed to dust your chooks, make sure you dust them under their wings and dust the the roosts, perches and nesting boxes. Not sure if chook lice/mites can be transferred to parrots, you can get avian parrot spray from the petshop.

Yes I'd say they are mites or lice, without seeing them. Treatments for both are the same anyway. You can pestine the whole coop but you really should remove the old bedding first then pestine or get a pyrethrin spray for all the coop, including walls and perches because as soon as you do the floor the little buggers will go up the walls. You need to do all the chooks not just ones who have them. Lime on the dirt around the coop and raked in will also help.

As for you, as Petite Poulet said, a nice hot shower and your clothing straight into the washing machine will kill them.

if i dust my chooks now will it take afect for sunday as i have a show on then.

If you've already washed them then dust them today, then tomorrow then check on Saturday, make sure you look carefully under the tail and the wings, its these places they like to hide, you might end up having to wash again.

I clean forgot to say anything about your parrot, you can (and should) get some mite/lice spray or powder from the pet shop for him/her if she's been in any close contact with either the coop or the chooks, otherwise just keep an eye out for excess scratching.
