Good to have a friend to help you out with the procedure.

How is Clyde's eye today?

Well done to you and your friend Chicka-Dee,

You have definitely helped by lancing the lump and expressing the material.
Don't worry about the blood refilling the cavity- it will most likely be resorbed by the body over time.
The wound may look a little worse today & tomorrow but will eventually improve. If you have managed to express all the material then it should heal completely. If not, it should at least have improved.

Good on you for taking the plunge.

I hope Clyde appreciates your efforts !! :)

Thanks Parvo :-D

I am truly blessed to have a friend that has such skills. She came back over today to give it another flush out and to see if she could get any more particles out. Not much more came out and we couldn't work out if it was more particles or just old infected flesh from inside the wound.

I have posted some photos of before and after the procedure from yesterday and today and the stuff we got out of his eye. His eye was very sore after the procedure today and he kept it closed for quite a while after she'd finished. Poor baby

It was a little puffy today but not black like it was. My friend said she's still concerned because it still feels hard when she thought it should be softer today than it is. Not sure if this means anything.

Big hus to you and Clyde
Thanks barnsey, I believe he is or will be over the next couple of days.

Any idea Chicka-Dee what it was?

An ulcer in Clyde's eye?

Hope he is better today and healing.

It looks like an abscess in the soft tissue under the eyelid (conjunctiva). With the black dot I wonder if a small grass seed penetrated into the tissue and started the infection?

The material at the top of the photo with all the particles looks exactly like abscess material- it should be firm and a little rubbery or may be crumbly in birds, not runny as it is in us.

Well done C-D. Don't worry about it still feeling firm; the surrounding tissue may be still thickened from the original infection. it should settle over time, and se will become increasingly more comfortable with each day.

That's what I thought it might have been & then the round thing came out (top item in the particles photo) when my friend cleaned out the wound that was one of the things that came out & looked like a seed & the other stuff just looked like broken down grass seed.

I wish I kept it now to check if it was rubbery or not, but if this ever happens again I will know what I'm looking for.

But let's all pray this never happens again th_Noooo.gif

much better today but still a little swollen & it still looks like something is at the hole but that might just be a scab.

Will be checking in him tomorrow.

thanks ILMC than657

It's still not 100% but it is way better than it was.

I still think there is something more in there but not sure if I should ask my friend to come back or not.

I will just have to keep looking after him with all of those hugs you guys keep sending wave.gif

Cheers
