Is anyone able to put a Dalby Auction Catolgue up,so we can all see the entries?I live almost 5 hours away,so need to see if there is anything I am specifically after?Thanks

I don't have a pdf copy of the lots but there is over eight hundred lots from what I have seen

ALL RESERVES MUST be in to SECRETARY by 9.00am.

Pavilion open from 6.30 am Saturday 24th July. Earlier penning by arrangement only.

All birds must be penned by 9.00am Saturday 24th July.

Cage birds to be sold in their own box, box to be sold with bird. Sold at noon.

Viewing from 9.00 am. Auction starts 10.00am. No further access to birds without a steward

All lots are to be sold in catalogue order. Dalby Feather Club accepts no responsibility
for incorrect description of lots. No substitutions will be accepted.

ANY BIRD DEEMED TO BE SICK OR UNFIT FOR SALE WILL BE WITHDRAWN.

TO COLLECT LOTS:

• ALL BIDDERS MUST HAVE BIDDERS CARD. Accounts will not be split. Total account to be paid, unless prior arrangements are made.
• BIRDS CAN BE COLLECTED AT END OF AUCTION. Stewards will release birds on presentation of receipt or slip from office. (birds can be released after 1.00 pm)
• ALL TRANSACTIONS ARE STRICTLY CASH/ CHEQUE.



DON’T FORGET TO BRING YOUR BOXES

Auction will take place outdoors if weather permits.

Canteen will operate all day.

HELMSMAN AUCTION

This method of buying Poultry combines the good features of both the auction system and sale by private treaty. You get the opportunity to bid on and buy any fowl or pen in the offering and pay competitive market value without any pressure.
HOW IT’S WORKS

1. On arrival, the intending purchasers register at the bid table and receive a buyer number.
2. All poultry are displayed for inspection as usual, with relevant information provided in the catalogue.
3. When the sale commences, all poultry are on the market simultaneously in there sections. You may bid on any fowl, regardless of lot number, by filling a card and handing it to a ‘runner’.
4. Bids will be accepted in minimums of $5.00, there is no upper limit on the size of bid.
5. Bids are recorded with the buyers number on a large board adjacent to the fowl display area. You can bid on any number of fowls at once and can see at a glance whether your bid still stands or has been overbid.
6. There is no pressure to commit yourself to another bid. If your first choice pen goes over the limit you can still bid on all other pens in the sale.
7. A bid once submitted and recorded cannot be retracted, and the person responsible for submitting such a bid will be responsible for it until it is overbid.
8. The sale will remain open for a minimum of 20 minutes per category. A bid registered in the last 2 minutes will result in a 2 minute time extension.
9. Further bids would trigger the same process until no more bids are received in a specified period, which would signify the end of the sale. (Note that the bidding interval may remain at 2 minutes throughout or may be shortened progressively to help conclude the sale.)


THE BENEFITS

1. You have more time to consider lodging a bid. You can place genuine bids on any pen of your choice at any time during the sale period.
2. You have the opportunity to re-assess each lot during the sale without any pressure to make an instant decision. (20 minutes allowed)
3. You have the opportunity to take home the pens you want, irrespective of lot order. For example, having been out-bid on lot 36, your first choice, you can move back to your second choice pen earlier in the catalogue, for example lot 7.
4. When you are buying multiples or groups of fowls, Helmsman gives you flexibility and time to average your purchase costs.
