I forgot to put that the son of 2 birds we sold last year to a breeder interstate won Reserve of Show [that breeder bred the offspring of course]

I think we were happier for that breeder than ourselves!!!

Update =
Warragul 21st Birthday All Breeds Show =

Brahma - we took out all the placings + top spots for Brahma

4x1sts 3x2nds 3x3rds + Best of Breed + Champ & Res Champ in Dark & Gold Partridge and Gold Crele [only colours we entered = our lights rolled in mud { LOL}]

Pens now being set for the upcoming season - PHEW!! we get a small reprieve [she says lying back = freshly broken nose so no choice sipping hot tea and dreaming of SERVANTS to do all the work ]

Well done I still havent shown any Brahmas , But I have one Cockerel about 2 months Old I reckon might get their .... One day ......
Can I ask abut the nose 'Ouch.....

Nose =
was getting the cages ready for the Orps [who took out lots of places champs res champs etc at Warragul too by the way] for the trip up north for the Clarendon Nthn Orp Nat Feature Show [lots of places champs etc etc etc there too] and something metal and heavy fell of the top off the Multiplo JUST as I was bending over to pick up the next cage - NO I didn’t knock the damn thing - and I didn’t see it coming and BANG straight across the right hand side of my nose and I fell from the shock of it and hit the left hand side of my nose on the edge of the brooder as I went down
WELL - - -
Blood everywhere – pain phenomenal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once I came too, blurred vision making it seem I was walking up a slope when I knew the ground was level - - - - -
I staggered across the driveway and nearly fainted just inside the verandah room door [the bleeping dog was no help of course in her concern] - almost fell against the actual back door on the opposite side of the verandah room as I opened it and fell barely conscious into my eldest’s arms who by chance was sitting at the kitchen table AND had only days before completed [with Honours] her Senior First Aid Course
X-Rays showed the break was a perfect one = not one bit of the boney structure was out of alignment and the cartilage was undamaged!!! It had literally cracked in almost a straight line - the doctor was actually impressed [I wasnt tho] he hypothesised that the way it got hit the 2nd time that it may have pushed the break back into place
The rest of the day/night was a total dont know what happened and the next day was no better and the following one was worse as on THAT day I had to wash 20 odd Orps for the Nthn Show – needless to say I turned up there with some that were ‘not clean’ and one that was never meant to be there – yes – I had picked up the WRONG Blue Cuckoo cockerel = LOL silly me BUT he got 1st in the Cuckoo cockerel section anyway AND as 'not washed' as he was too!!!!!!!!! none of my birds were fully prepared - no oiling of combs wattles etc etc and most were smelly from the long trip up [by the time I got there I didnt care anyway!]

Bare in mind it took 23hrs to drive there – average speed = 70-80kph [slow cause of the pain - vision was fine by the time we left]– so everyone CAN call me an Orpington Tragic cant they!!!!
I worked at the show while there too - cant stop me with just a broken nose!!
